Luna Park Sydney is an amusement park in Milsons Point, on the northern shore of Sydney Harbour. It is just one of two amusement parks in the world to be protected by government legislation, and even has some of its buildings listed on the Register of the National Estate and the NSW State Heritage Register.

The history of Luna Park goes back to 1935 when an amusement park by that name operated at the foot of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Between then and 1972, it only opens for nine months every year. In 1972, it was extended to open year round, but an accident in 1979 - which claimed the lives of six children and an adult - forced it to close.

Later another amusement park was built and called Harbourside Amusement Park. It later renamed to Luna Park. This second incarnation closed in 1988 after it failed an engineering inspection. It reopened in 1995 under a new management, only to cease operations once again within 13 months due to low turnover.

The latest incarnation of Luna Park opened in 2004 and is still operating today.
