Mrs Macquaries Point, Sydney
Mrs Macquaries Point is the peninsula pointing north into Sydney Harbour between Farm Cove and Woolloomooloo Bay. It was named after Elizabeth Henrietta Macquarie, wife of Lieutenant-Governor Lachlan Macquarie, the Governor of New South Wales from 1810 to 1821.
Mrs Macquarie is said to be fond of going to the tip of the peninsula and sitting there admiring the view. The rock formation where she rested is today known as Mrs Macquarie's Chair.
