Sydney Aquarium is one of the biggest aquariums in the world. It is located on the eastern side of the Darling Harbour, to the north of the Pyrmont Bridge.

The Sydney Aquarium, opened as part of Australia's bicentenary celebrations in 1988, showcases the varies aquatic life of the continent. It displays over 650 species including some 6000 fish and other marine life. The highlight of the aquarium is its acrylic glass tunnels to allow close view of sharks within the Great Barrier Reef coral environment.

 Following the success of Sydney Aquarium, its owners the Sydney Attractions Group (a division of Village Roadshow Theme Parks and Attractions) opened Sydney Wildlife World next to it in 2006.
